Integrating Japanese Eastern medicine with Western medicine.

The patient visited our clinic to receive MLS laser therapy for pain in both sides of the knees, left sciatica, left plantar area, and the left Achilles tendon.

She had MLS laser therapy for the first few sessions targeting those pains. After the sessions, her plantar, Achilles tendon pain and knee pain improved, but her sciatic symptoms did not. Therefore, we suggested having a few sessions of physical therapy.

The physical therapy intervention focused on the mobility of the sciatic nerve, hip joint, and pelvic structures. After one session of physical therapy, the sciatic symptoms disappeared. Am MRI showed inflammation in both sdes of the knees. Currently, we are working on improving hip and ankle mobility to decrease stress on the knees, and muscle stretching and light strengthening to improve knee control.
